Product Review.
I was very temted to get my hands on the Caudalie Beauty Elixir for about six month as it claimed to help with minimizing pores, brightening complextion and somewhat of a primer. Yet I found it to be quite expensive, but while ordering other things I caved in and got it as well. Truth to be said I was not expecting what it actually is, especially the smell, it smells like Gold Star(золотая звезда, бальзам) vaseline that is used for mosquito bites and for stuffed nose. The smell is definetly not for everyone, I love the smell but now even more people who despise it, half of my family for sure. So I enjoy spraying it on my face, also the applicator is very good, and you do not end up with moisture and drops of liquid on your face. As for actual product and how it works I can say that it brightens up complexion a little bit and minimizes pores. But it will not happen straight away, at first I could not even notice the difference, but I had it for about two weeks and I start noticing positive changes. What I really like about the product that it is very refreshing and almost wakes you up especially in the morning, and since it is very hot here it kind of dries skin a little bit, making it less oily.( I have acne and quite oily skin).
There is no particular use for it, it is recommended to use after moisturizer, as a primer, or anytime one wants. I just tried it today as a primer and have to say, it is a bit harder to put and blend the make up on,but after applying make up does look better and stays better. It seemed to dry off the parts that need to be less oily and add a bit of moiture where needed. Over the make I just spritzed it and so far I like it. I do not use foundation, so I cannot say what might happen if you spray it on the foundation, it might work as a setting spray(and the company claims it can be) but it might be horrible as well.
It contains alcohol, so it is more for combination/oily skin to normal rather than dry/normal. Actually, I will go as far and say that if you have dry and dehydrated skin it probably does not worth your money. It might help with breakouts, but it will dehydrate your skin even more. As it removes oil from my skin, so my assumption would be that you would need to wait for the benefits of its use even longer. There are better toners for dry skin on the market.
Overall I like it, but while buying it, think twice as it is a good product if you have oily skin and definetly worth the hype people created around it, otherwise it is nothing special.
I have ordered the bigger bottle already, as I think that it worth my investment at least for the summer/autumn time.
